Opportunities of EU–Japan Collaboration

Japan is a global leader in science and technology and a priority country for European cooperation in research and innovation. Although the cooperation between European entities and Japan has experienced an important dynamism in the last years, it is still far behind other industrialized countries. The aim of the seminar is to promote awareness of the Japanese science, innovation and technology system and its trends and foster collaborations with Japanese entities. Representatives of JST Tokyo (Japan Science and Technology Agency) and JSPS Strasbourg (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) will participate in the seminar.
This event will provide an overview of the Japanese research and innovation system, the relevant Japanese RTI actors and opportunities for international cooperation. The event will also highlight Japanese funding schemes to facilitate research cooperation and examples of research collaboration between Japanese and European institutions. Horizon 2020 and other funding opportunities to cooperate with Japan will also be presented as well as support services as JEUPISTE.
